Draw the payoff of a future or option, single or combined, and know the profit, loss and break-even at a glance.
The certification that puts you on an F&O trading desk. Structured preparation for the NISM Series VIII exam — taught through payoff diagrams and worked numericals, not memorised definitions.

SEBI requires anyone functioning as an approved user or sales person for a trading member in the equity derivatives segment to hold this certification. In plain terms: if your job involves dealing, executing or advising on futures and options, NISM Series VIII is not optional — it is the qualification that lets you sit at the desk. Our training is built to get you through it the first time.
Why it's worth having
Futures and options volumes on Indian exchanges have grown into some of the largest in the world, and every broking house, bank treasury and prop desk needs people who genuinely understand what they are trading. That understanding — not just a certificate — is what NISM Series VIII is meant to signal.
Dealers who can reason about payoffs and manage margin are in demand across broking, treasury and proprietary trading — roles a mutual fund certification alone does not open.
Without behavioral finance, even technically correct advice gets rejected.
Derivatives literacy underpins later moves into research, risk and portfolio roles, so the effort here keeps paying off well beyond the exam.
It is the SEBI-mandated benchmark for associated persons working as approved users and sales personnel of a trading member in the equity derivatives segment of a recognised stock exchange. Passing it confirms you can operate in the futures and options market to a defined minimum standard. The examination tests four things end to end: the workings of the Indian equity derivatives market; the trading strategies built on futures and options over stocks and indices; the clearing, settlement, risk-management and operational machinery behind every trade; and the regulatory framework that governs it all.
Approved users and sales personnel of trading members, dealers on equity derivatives desks, and anyone in a broking or markets firm whose role touches futures and options.
It converts the official syllabus into worked payoff diagrams, drilled pricing numericals and exam-format practice — so you don't just recognise a concept, you can apply it under time pressure and a marking penalty.

Working with India's broking and markets firms

On paper it looks manageable — 100 questions, familiar topics. In practice it is one of the more demanding NISM papers, and the reasons are specific rather than vague.
| Where marks are lost | What our training does about it |
|---|---|
| Strategy questions answered from memory | Payoff-diagram teaching so you derive the answer instead of recalling a label. |
| Pricing and payoff numericals left un-practised | Repeated worked examples until the calculations are second nature. |
| The 25% negative-marking penalty on guesses | A clear rule for when an attempt is worth the risk and when to leave it. |
| Settlement, margin and regulation treated as afterthoughts | Full coverage of the operational and legal chapters, which are among the easiest marks on the paper. |
The syllabus is sequenced the way the skill is built — first what a derivative is, then how it's priced, then the strategies, then the machinery and rules that surround every trade. Each chapter maps directly to the examination.
| Chapter | What it covers |

How we teach it
Most candidates meet options as a glossary — long call, short put, bull spread, straddle — and try to memorise thirty definitions. Under exam pressure, the definitions blur. Our training teaches every position as a payoff diagram instead: once you can draw what a position earns and loses at each price, you can reason your way to the answer rather than recall it. The same principle runs through the numerical work. Futures pricing, option premium, break-evens and margin are taught as procedures you practise until they're automatic, ready for the Excel or LibreOffice workstation you'll face at the test centre. The result is preparation that survives contact with an unfamiliar question — which is exactly what this paper throws at you.
Note: Please note: The NISM Series VIII: Equity Derivatives Certification Examination is conducted by the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), a public trust established by SEBI. AAFM® India is a training provider — we prepare you for the examination. The exam, the certificate and its validity are administered entirely by NISM.
CWM® charterholders serve in private banking, wealth advisory, financial planning, and portfolio roles across these organizations — part of a 300,000+ global alumni network.
