The gap

Reading the syllabus is not the same as preparing for the exam

NISM Series V-D asks you to develop knowledge across several inter-related fields at once — mutual funds, Specialized Investment Funds, equity derivatives and interest rate derivatives. Candidates rarely fail because the material is beyond them. They fail because of how it is approached.

A broad syllabus across multiple concepts

Three distinct knowledge areas in one paper, each with its own vocabulary and its own logic. Covering them one by one leaves no time to see how they connect.

Theory that doesn't survive contact with the question

The concepts are understood, but application-based questions in the exam are framed differently from the way the workbook explains them.

Too little practice on calculations and strategies

Derivatives and strategy questions carry real calculation weight. Reading them through once is not preparation for solving them under time pressure.

No structured plan across modules

Without a sequence, most candidates over-prepare the familiar module and arrive at derivatives with too little time left.

Accuracy, timing and negative marking

150 questions in 180 minutes with 10% negative marking makes guessing expensive. Knowing when not to attempt is a skill in itself.

This training programme offers a systematic preparation pattern — covering the important concepts, linking concepts from one module to the next, giving you exam-oriented practice, and sharpening how you approach the paper itself.

What is the NISM Series V-D certification exam?

NISM-Series-V-D: Mutual Fund – Specialized Investment Fund Distributors Certification Examination was launched by NISM with effect from 22 July 2026. It seeks to create a common minimum knowledge benchmark for everyone involved in selling and distributing mutual fund and Specialized Investment Fund products. The examination covers ground that was previously spread across separate certifications. Alongside the structure and distribution of mutual funds, it tests the basics of the Indian equity derivatives market, the trading strategies built using futures and options on stocks and indices, fixed-income securities, and the analytical framework behind interest rate futures and options traded on Indian exchanges.

Who the examination is intended for

Individual mutual fund and SIF distributors; employees of organisations engaged in the sale and distribution of mutual fund and SIF products; and employees of asset management companies, particularly those engaged in sales and distribution.

What our training does

Covers the concepts required by the official NISM syllabus and shows how each applies in exam-type questions — taking you from core mutual fund and distribution concepts through to Specialized Investment Funds, equity derivatives, fixed-income securities and interest rate derivatives.

Who should take the NISM Series V-D certification?

Mutual fund distributors

Existing MFDs extending their practice into Specialized Investment Funds as the category opens up.

AMC sales & distribution teams

Employees engaged in the sale and distribution of mutual fund and SIF products who need the certification for their role.

Program Overview

A systematic route through the NISM V-D syllabus

Build a structured understanding of mutual funds, Specialized Investment Funds, equity derivatives and interest rate derivatives while preparing systematically for the NISM Series V-D certification examination.

The training assists you with the concepts required by the official syllabus and shows how they can be applied effectively in solving exam-type questions. It takes you from core mutual fund and distribution concepts through to more advanced areas — Specialized Investment Funds, equity derivatives, fixed-income securities and interest rate derivatives — and covers the structure of mutual funds and their distribution, services provided to investors, tax aspects, risk and performance analysis, scheme selection, futures and options, and hedging, trading and arbitrage strategies.

Carefully designed learning material, concept explanations, exam-relevant examples and practice questions guide you through the volume of the Series V-D syllabus in a manageable way.

Why structured preparation makes all the difference

Just reading the syllabus is insufficient to prepare for the NISM Series V-D exam. Candidates are required to develop knowledge in various inter-related fields like Mutual funds, Specialized Investment funds, Equity Derivatives and Interest rate Derivatives.

Many candidates may struggle because of:

  • A broad syllabus covering multiple financial-market concepts
  • Difficulty connecting theoretical concepts with application-based questions
  • Limited practice with calculations, derivatives, and strategy-based questions
  • Lack of a structured study plan across different modules
  • Insufficient focus on accuracy, time management, and negative marking

How we help you succeed:

This is a training program that offers a systematic preparation pattern which covers important concepts, links concepts from one module to another, helps you practice exam-oriented questions and enhances your preparation approach for the NISM Series V-D Certification Examination.

How the training is built

Concepts, then application

Each concept is explained and then immediately shown in the form the examination is likely to ask it — so recognition, not recall, becomes the habit.

Modules linked, not isolated

Where the syllabus repeats a theme across modules — risk, return, valuation — the training makes the link explicit instead of teaching it three times.

Calculation practice built in

Derivatives, fixed income and performance questions carry calculation weight. The practice set is weighted accordingly.

Exam technique

Sequencing the paper, managing 150 questions across 180 minutes, and deciding when a 10% negative mark makes an attempt not worth taking.

It is the Mutual Fund – Specialized Investment Fund Distributors Certification Examination, launched by NISM with effect from 22 July 2026. It sets a common minimum knowledge benchmark for anyone selling or distributing mutual fund and Specialized Investment Fund products. Our training prepares you for it end to end.
Yes, if you want to distribute SIFs. Passing V-D qualifies you to distribute both mutual funds and SIF products under one certificate, so you don't need to hold V-A separately. If you only ever plan to sell mutual funds, V-A on its own is still enough. Our programme is built for the V-D path — the broader one that opens up the SIF opportunity.
The Series XIII route to new SIF eligibility closed after 21 September 2026. If you hold a valid Series XIII obtained on or before that date, you can keep distributing SIFs until it expires — but you must also hold a valid Series V-A during that time. Once it expires, Series V-D becomes your requirement. If your certification is nearing expiry, this is the exam to prepare for now, and our training gets you ready for it.
Individual mutual fund and SIF distributors, AMC sales and distribution employees, staff at distribution houses, RIAs and advisory professionals, and banking or wealth relationship teams whose product range now includes SIFs. If you sell or advise on these products, this certification applies to you — and our programme is designed around exactly this audience.

Exams and eligibility

150 questions of 1 mark each, to be completed in 3 hours. You need 60% — 90 out of 150 — to pass, and there's negative marking of 10% of the marks assigned to each question. That negative marking is why our training weights practice toward accuracy and knowing when not to attempt a question, rather than just covering the syllabus.
Twenty-two chapters across three areas — mutual funds (chapters 1–12), equity derivatives (13–17) and interest rate derivatives (18–22) — because V-D merges what used to be three separate certifications into one paper. That volume is exactly why self-study takes so long. Our programme sequences the whole syllabus and links the concepts that repeat across modules, so you cover it in the right order instead of drowning in it.
It's harder than the basic V-A mutual fund exam, for two reasons: three certifications' worth of syllabus, plus negative marking that V-A doesn't have. The mutual fund chapters feel familiar to most distributors, but the ten derivatives chapters are where people lose marks. Our teaching is concentrated exactly there, with worked examples and practice sets on the part that decides whether you pass.
No. Our training begins with mutual fund fundamentals and builds up to equity and interest rate derivatives step by step, so you're not expected to arrive already knowing the hard parts. That said, the derivatives modules are demanding from a standing start, which is exactly what our structured path is designed to carry you through.
Yes. The test-centre computers run Excel or LibreOffice, and the derivatives and interest-rate questions involve calculations you're expected to work out there. For candidates from a pure distribution background this is usually the most intimidating part, so our training walks you through these computations before exam day rather than leaving you to meet them cold.
The workbook is the syllabus, but it's a dense 500-plus-page reference, not a study plan. Most people don't struggle to find the material — they struggle to work through its volume in the right order and turn it into the ability to answer application-based questions under time pressure. That's the whole job our training does: concept explanations, exam-format practice and a clear path through the material, so your study time actually converts into marks.
Structured coverage of all three modules, concept explanations with exam-relevant examples, practice questions in the exam's format, and guidance on sequencing, timing and negative marking — 72 lessons and nearly 24 hours of video, accessible on mobile and desktop for 12 months, with dedicated learning support.
The training is ₹1,999 + 18% GST (₹2,358.82), which includes registration and 12-month access to the full course. The NISM examination fee of ₹3,000 is paid separately to NISM when you book your exam. In other words, the training that prepares you costs less than the exam itself.
Immediately — your learning access is activated within 24 hours of enrolment, and you can begin with the mutual fund module the same day. There's no batch to wait for; you study at your own pace across the 12 months.
No, and be cautious of anyone who promises that — the exam is conducted and assessed entirely by NISM. What our training does is prepare you thoroughly: the right material, in the right order, with practice in the exam's format. The result depends on your own effort, but you'll go in prepared rather than hoping.
Training fees are non-refundable once paid, so please review the full course details on this page before enrolling. If anything is unclear, request a callback and an advisor will talk you through it before you pay.
