Understand the fundamentals of wealth management and the purpose, role and evolution of family offices.
The Wealth Management and Family Office
Fundamentals course is a practical, wealth-oriented program that aims
to equip learners with an understanding of how family wealth is structured,
invested, governed and managed across generations.
The course covers the fundamentals of wealth management,
family office structures, asset allocation, portfolio diversification, family
governance, investment decision-making, succession planning and risk
management.
It also introduces learners to traditional and alternative
investments, including equities, fixed income, real estate, private equity,
venture capital, private credit, AIFs, REITs and InvITs, along with the growing
role of global diversification, technology, MIS and professional investment
teams in family-office management.
At the conclusion of the program, learners will be able to
understand family wealth from a structured perspective, evaluate different
approaches to capital allocation, recognize governance and succession
requirements, and approach wealth management with a professional and
multi-generational perspective.
As wealth grows, managing it becomes more complex. Families
need to look beyond individual investments and consider how capital is
allocated, how risk is managed, who makes decisions and how wealth will
continue across generations.
Structured wealth management helps bring investments,
governance, family objectives and long-term planning into one organised
framework.
This course helps you build that structure by learning to:
- Understand wealth management and
the role of a family office.
- Understand how family offices are
structured and how they evolve as family wealth becomes more complex.
- Build an understanding of asset
allocation across traditional, alternative and real assets.
- Understand family governance,
investment decision-making and succession planning.
- Evaluate risk, liquidity,
concentration and diversification while managing family wealth.
- Understand the role of
professional teams, technology, MIS and reporting in modern family offices.
It is about managing wealth with a clear purpose,
structured decision-making and a long-term perspective rather than looking at
investments in isolation.
